Sheep and calves in the fields, ducks on the lakes, and now and then a pine marten at the window. Bring boots.

There are two apartments in the old farmyard: one with open fireplaces and the brass bed, one with its own bar. The room pictures are a few years old.

Im alten Farmyard liegen zwei Wohnungen: eine mit Kaminen und dem Messingbett, eine mit eigener Bar. Die Zimmerbilder sind ein paar Jahre alt.

Downstairs: kitchen, dining room with a big open fireplace, living room with the original fireplace, a double bedroom with its own WC, and a utility room for muddy boots and wet coats. Upstairs: the master bedroom with the brass bed and long views, the second bedroom with two double beds, and the Victorian bathroom with a free-standing bath.

Unten: Küche, Esszimmer mit großem Kamin, Wohnzimmer mit dem alten Kamin, ein Doppelzimmer mit eigenem WC und ein Hauswirtschaftsraum für nasse Jacken und schlammige Stiefel. Oben: das große Schlafzimmer mit Messingbett und weitem Blick, das zweite Schlafzimmer mit zwei Doppelbetten und das viktorianische Bad mit freistehender Wanne.

Deerpark is not signposted. Getting to Mountrath is easy; after that, follow the landmarks below. Irish road signs give distances in kilometres, but people here still give directions in miles — so do we.

Deerpark ist nicht ausgeschildert. Bis Mountrath ist es einfach, danach helfen die Wegmarken unten. Die Schilder in Irland zeigen Kilometer, beim Wegbeschreiben rechnet man hier aber noch in Meilen — wir auch.
